I've been the admin of an Unreal Tornament server for a while now, and I've been really intrigued as to how it starts a HTTP daemon-style process on a specified port on the host machine. I've realised that this could be incredibly useful for a Perl script that I've already written, and I'd love to know if there's a script that's already been written (or a Perl module) that can give me the capability of doing this.
Example: When the script is run, it uses a port on localhost (say, for argument, 6000) and turns it into a HTTP server port. From the page http://localhost:6000, I could then use admin functions on the same script (eg. setting variables inside the script).
This might sound confusing/stupid (
), but I really hope there's a method that can help me accomplish this.
Thanks in advance for any help
