just spam the heck out of the board till you find a bug in it or feel safe that its bugless. Other than that, setup a second board and copy all the current files from you board to it and test it that way, thus you leave your current working board up and you have a second test board with all current member files and posts and such so you can test out hacks before acctually applying them. Its what I'm doing right now before I upgrade, due to the fact I just dont like inconviniencing ppl. I just copyed all files to my hd and then back to my host, say my working board is in /cgi-bin/ and /ubb/ dirs I just moved them to /cgi-bin/cgi-bin/ /ubb/ubb/ as I was too lazy to call my host and get them to change the permissions on any other dir(dang winNT) though if you can get full terminal remote access to your host it would be easier since I did spend about 8hrs downloading and uploading stuff. Works fine for me, and as long as your not too short on webspace for your site its a good way to test what possible problems the upgrade could cause and nip them in the butt before hand.
