thanks for the answer but i've worked that out, the smilie does not appear in the thread. the standard ones do but not the ones i've added except for one that i added manually before i put the hack in i have a feeling it has something to do with the img wordlet as every smilie in there works but i would have thought the hack would edit that as well ?
