I've had that problem in the past as well.

Here's the fix

1. Click on the my profile link
2. Click on the View/Update Profile link
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and locate the Allow members to send you private messages? preference
4. Set the preference radio button to Yes
5. Click on the Update Profile button
6. Wait a few minutes
7. Click on the my profile link again, you will see a list of all of your incoming private messages
8. Next to each message, click the Del? check box...that's what you have to do to deliver the Private Messages.
9. Click the button on the bottom of the page, disregarding the fact that it says, Delete Checked Messages.

oh wait nevermind.
