As part of the beta-testing team, we've agreed to not modify any files in the beta software - basically so we're not reporting bugs in the modifications
We're also a dev site, and as such are there to promote modifications as much as possible. There's always some good things going on with the current final version, so we stay at that version to assist with development in squashing bugs and getting modifications to finished/stable status. We've been a little light in the mod-showcase arena the last few months, we'll be changing that soon enough
There's always new versions coming out... it's nice to get off that merry-go-round occasionally and work with the good stuff we've already got in the pipe
