I just setup several boards that I want closed for reading to the public. (It's a Homeowners Association) Somehow I assumed that the moderator could have the option to approve new users but I can't find any way to do that. Or am I missing something?
I suppose I could alter the boards read groups so the default group cannot read anything, but this would force the user to have to figure out what is wrong and then email me so I can click around the admin page 8 times to add him to a new group. I think this would be discouraging to the users and a waste of time for me.
Does anyone know of an alternative solution/hack?
I hope I explained that suitably. My Coffee is just kicking in. ;-)
Here's the way I think it should work? A user fills out the "new user" page and clicks on the check boxes for the forums he wants to be able to use (or the group he thinks he should be in). An email is then sent to the admin/moderators with the users registration info and desired forums. The admin or moderator can click on one link in the email to give access to the user or he can click on another link that takes him to a page to adjust his group(s). Once the first moderator approves the user, an email should be sent to the other moderators.
Any Ideas?
