My 20 cents: I tried several packages. I was about to be the champ in licences archive []/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/] Each time I was attracted by the advertised features and convinced after some quick experiences. But each time, my deception was great when I go deeply in the package.
You'll find a lot of the w3threads features in other packages, but what it is specific to w3t, beyond the big list of its features, are the hidden ones :
- We always have some specfic needs. The code is so well written and documented such that you have not to be a coder to hack it.
- The high quality of hacks submitted by several users
- High level and quick support from the users and from Scream (also know as speedy Scream []/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/] )
- Quick development process and quick bug fixes
- Easy integration with other packages (cf LinkSQL)
- The choice between PHP and a Perl version
- Ownership of the licence, not a lease
- ...
In one sentence: A lot of hidden features et no hidden costs!
