i'm hoping to develop a map of the ski resort i work at, that the groomers (the guys that make the slopes easy to ski on) can enter in which slopes they have groomed on a given evening, and those runs will be highlighted on the map (base image).
is it fairly easy to do image overlays via php? there are about 40 different "runs" that could possibly be overlayed/groomed on any given day... is this the easiest way to go about it, or whould using somethign fancy like flash make it easier.
I would like to do it in php and possibly have a mysql db backend to store the historical data in, it seems like a fun project, but i have yet to do much image manipulation with php.
any help/ideas would be preciated!
