Media Access Control (MAC) addresses change as a packet moves from one node to another on a network, so the MAC address of your Network Interface Card (NIC) never leaves your local LAN (so you cannot use it to track someone). See my

IP addresses stay the same as a packet moves from one node to another unless a devices is using
NAT. So it is possible to track someone via their IP address, but not via their MAC address.
If someone is getting dynamically assigned IP addresses then you could block the entire subnet that they are on, but you could end up blocking more than one user.
