Yeah, make sure the permissions and ownership is correct on your new server for the avatar directory.

Try the permissions at 777 and the ownership should be your current web users. Sometimes these get switched to "nobody" in a mod.

I would try:

chmod -R 777 avatardirectory

to fix permissions.

If you need to play with ownership - you can try

chown -R youruser:youruser avatardirectory
