Quick update...
Checking the admin log, I see that there have been no post deletions since I installed this little "tweek". And no one has whined yet either... which I kinda half suspected might happen. They didn't want me knowing that they were going around posting and deleting... using that method to bump threads and then causing people to think there are new posts and there's not and they think it's a "software bug" and I'm getting flooded with email and PMs... blahblahblah. They didn't know that I had logging on and knew exactly who was doing what...
Anyway... so it's working!!
