Thanks scroungr! I thought about putting it in the Threads images directory but I wasn't sure until I viewed source on the postlist page...
Edit: I spoke too soon: Even though it's looking for the favicon in /ubbthreads/images and even though I put a copy of it in the images directory it's still not working
