mmhh, hast du die Datenbank evt unter einer anderen Codebase installiert? Default sollte latin1_swedish_ci sein. Du kannst probieren in der generic.php (Sprachdatei) den verwendeten Zeichensatz anzupassen. Versuche mal utf-8 anstatt iso-8859-1. Du kannst auch iso-8859-15 ausprobieren. Evt hilft das ja schon.
