1) vbulletin is in php, while php may be a lot like perl, they are not the same.

2) vbulletin file layout is very different. it does not use cacheing, etc.

perhaps if you point out an example of the hack, someone could make a "port" of it, but your not going to be able to apply a vbb hack to a ubb.
