In 5.xx I used to have a hack that counted the true post count by adding the post count in every member file and displaying on the main page. This represents a true count because it ignores pruning.

I feel it is a little server intensive now that I have 1200 members so I was thinking of simply adding some blurb like 'Over 120,000 posts' to the main forum page and changing it every 10,000 posts or whatever but...

I need a little stand alone script to do the math for me. Understand that i don't want this integrated into UBB. It would just be a short perl script that I would run every few weeks that would look at every member file and add the post count to give a total post since inception.

Please gurus, it would probably take you 2 mins :-)

Thanks

Steve
