After a nice little break for the past couple months, we're finally ready to get back into the swing of things. So here's the official thread for posting your entries into this month's (well, next month's) Member Spotlight Contest. Remember, since last month was the Premium Edition, we're starting over with our bi-annual "Big" contest. So the next six winners will all go head-to-head for the big prizes seven months from now. (That is, unless they go and do something stupid like switch to vB!) Anyway, here's some rules that we gotta throw in here just so we don't get sued for spilling hot coffee or some such nonsense...
Entries are judged based on the following criteria: quality of hacks, site integration, quality of design, colors and aesthetics, and the quality of the member experience. And entries must be received by 11:59:59PM on December 15th. First and second place winners will be announced in the next issue of the U-Zine.
Entries with any of the following "qualities" will be systematically destroyed - er, I mean disqualified, with or without notice to the entrant.
- pirated UBB's.
- sites that remove/hide the Infopop copyright notice.
- 5.X or 6.0 Beta UBB's. (Note that we are still allowing 6.0x Release versions)
- warez sites or porno sites.
- sites that depict harm to pandas or small children.
Also note that any person submitting a site which uses the letter 'z' instead of the letter 's' at the end of plural words will be given The Fuzzy Warble until he/she says 'uncle', and also sentenced to look at three placentas. We reserve the right to also force you to watch reruns of Walker: Texas Ranger at any time. And if you want a real rule, we also reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason deemed fit by the judges, with or without notice to the entrant.
