What they probably meant (I got the same babble in b.a.s.i.c class) is that the flow and structures are similar. Even basic had If/Then/Else and so on. It's considered a high level language where I believe fortran and rpg, etc.. were considered lower level languages. Basic was considered a high level language since it was near english terms, more syntax then code.
GEEEZ!!! I don't believe I remember that, wonder if I got it right..LOL
BASIC - Beginners all purpose instruction code
COBOL - common buisness oriented language
RPG - report generator
FORTRAN - Formula Translation
And the first language that started it all..
Aida, created for C. Babbages analytical engine, Aida Lovelace created a code using punch cards to program his "computer" he couldn't figure out how.. LOL Figures, behind every great man is a Woman..
TILT!! Class dimissed
Ever wonder where the term "bug in the program" came from? If anyone wonders, how long I've been staring at this infernal machine, I remember AT&T Dos 1.0..LOL And windows fit on one 5 1/4 360k disk..
