Ok, I know that subs aren't explained in the CGI101 book, but can someone please just give me a short tutorial on subs. Like when do I use it, what is it for, where do I put it, and what does it do? Thanks to anyone who can help me out here, I realize I'm going to probably have to buy another book for PERL, but as of right now I just need a short definition, or you can say...just the basics of it... ------------------ Quality Pages designing the world professional web pages for affordable prices.

Wow...if you don't know what subs are, look for a tutorial, you need it badly. ------------------ Da Wannabe Cannuck Andy Tomaka YaBB Developement Team [email protected]http://www.yabb.org

Yep atom, I realize that already. But as of right now my knowlege on PERL is still limited to the first 6 chapters of CGI101, and the book probably won't be here for another week or 2. Could you recommend me any online tutorials on subs? ------------------ Quality Pages designing the world professional web pages for affordable prices.

Actually, the book doesn't talk much at all about subs. ------------------ My Freeware Board

Yep I know, all it saids is to add the code to execute in subs? Something like that anyways... But I hear that O'Reilly's is good, but right now I'm flat broke for it. So I'm just sticking with online tutorials for the mean time... ------------------ Quality Pages designing the world professional web pages for affordable prices.

The CGI101 tutorial sucks. Use this one instead. It's far more thourough and some of the guru's on C.l.p.m have given it good reviews. From what I've seen of it, its a good overview. http://www.netcat.co.uk/rob/perl/win32perltut.html (Don't let the win32 in the url fool you. It isn't a perl for win32 tutorial) --mark ------------------ [This message has been edited by Mark Badolato (edited September 13, 2000).]
