Are there scripts out there that can help someone retrieve a lost password? I have webring, topsites, and linkexchange scripts. None of them have a lost pw option. So are there any scripts where I can type the e-mail address and password for each person so that they can type their e-mail and get their pw?

It wouldn't be that hard to make yourself that is if you know atleast the basics of CGI. I have made on for my staff at my site. If you click it you see the Lost password option next to the password feild. When they type in the name, and they hit submit, It searches the name. If it finds it. It opens up the file. Finds the email address. And sends them there password [Linked Image]

That's just the script I need. Would you send it to me? I don't know CGI, I just use it. I'll understand if you don't want to send it to me since you made it.

Well I couldn't just send it to you and then you just make a link to it and expect it to work. You still have to do editing to make it fit the current script you have.

Oh, so it's not a script where you could just type the username, password, and e-mail address of the user? It's actually an add-on to a script?

well yeah, you type in the user name and hit submit. Now the script takes over by opening the name. Reading the feilds into an array. Then it prints out a nice little email with there username and password

So it's not an add-on?
