You need to edit the yum.conf file and correct the abnormal entries.

exactly  Is there an easy way to track that yum.conf file down? I am guessing it would be in the conf folder, but the server isn't letting me in

hmm... ok, I can log into the server root using ws_ftp in ssh mode and it looks like I can go just about anywhere, but I have no idea where to look.
