Hey,

I'm using Active Threads to pull the latest topics on to my front page.

Problem is though is that the way Active.cgi is written it formats the results in the most ugly way.

When I try to edit the HTML no matter what I seem to do the script always goes kaput and stops working completely.

So I was hoping someone might be able to help me out.

I believe this code is responsible for the SSI formatting ....

$PAGE .= qq(

  • $threadheader[8]

    Last Updated on $TheDate at $TheTime);

  • }

    }

    }

    I want to get rid of the
  • and I want to center the results consecutively down the page. Giving the fonts different colors.

    Simply removing the
  • tag seemed to just crash the script for starters !!!

    Can anyone please help me ????

    I've been off and on at this for a month now lol [Linked Image] [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
    thats not all the code for it.
    Look in the page where its embedded. there should be a "
      " and "
    " tag. get rid of them.

    in the code you posted:
    get rid of the "
  • " tag.
    then find "
    ", delete it.
    find "
    " and delete it.

    what you do to format it from there is up to you. I would reccommend a table, of course. But I can't tell you exactly how to do that since I don't have all the code.

    okely dokely.

    and it looks terrible. If I even try putting it in a table the script gives me an SSI error.

    I believe the code I posted above truely is all that is responsible for SSI output.

    I mean that is a standard active.cgi (its one of the mods in the database if ya wanna take a look) and it doesn't even close any of its HTML tags !!!!

    Can ya help mate ????

    Thanks,

    I want to add the results from Active or Resent topics to the front page of my web site, but I can not use SSI. Is there a way to use a Java script to pull the active HTML into a frame on a page?
    In other words, I want a small framed area, about 200x200 that would display the first 5 or 6 latest topics hyper links.

    My email is [email protected]

    Thanks

    I have created a non-SSI News fader type of hack. It can be used on any html page, even your index page.
