***EDIT*** THE TUTORIAL CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE:
http://www.iewfnet.com/tutorials/js_bug/ This is just a nice little tip I thought you would like
I am doing my best at explaining it quickly, but, will do a better tutorial later.
Okay, lets take matt's site as an example (
http://matt.h-realms.com ).
Now then, when you go to the site, the first piece of text you read is a warning not to hover the mouse over the little blue image furhter up the page.
Surprise Surprise, everyone hovers over the image and bang
...
the layers on the page get changed and you get a new layer down below saying 'didn't i warn you not to hover over the little blue button' and it offers you a link to return to
the 'original' oage (this basically switchers the layers again)
...
but, this also means you have to click on a link, and the link needs somewhere to go so most people use
but, this changes the url they are visiting to:
http://matt.h-realms.com/# which is fine
...
however, it also changes the title of the page (displayed in the browser title place thingy
) to
http://matt.h-realms.com/# which makes your site lose some of its consistency
...
the solution to this is, instead of using
use and this will change the layers etc etc and keep the original title in the title bar
a pretty small tip I know, but, all the same its useful
i am currently writing a better tutorial for this
