Yo.
I would like to create polls that users can vote in without registering.
But not necessarily for all polls.

Any suggestions, thanks laugh

Can you divide them between forums with different posting permissions?

I guess...
Sometimes we will want polls that only registered members can vote on, and sometimes the poll will need to be open to anyone.

I suppose putting them in different forums might work, but I don't see that option in the CP.

You set the forum to allow polls, then you allow replies in the forum (and voting in the polls) based on whether or not they are guests, regged users, or mods/admins.

Hmmm, I must be missing something.
I am running 6.7.0 BTW

I set the forum to allow polls, then allow everyone to vote and view results. But my list differs from what you say Allen.
I have:
Administrators
Moderators
Members
Junior Members
Underage members.

But no mention of guests or unregistered.

I also have the "Restrict Reply Creation" set to "All Users"

But... unregistered users still cannot vote or view.

Thanks so far, get back when you have a chance!

Ah Hah!

No hack for it?

I'm looking for something that would validate against double voting through the IP address, not through whether or not they are registered to the board.
I suppose I could write something instead.

Thanks anyways guys! smile

The reason unregistered users can not vote is that the votes are fully tracked, and are indexed by user numbers, not IP addresses. Making the code think in IPs and/or users would not be an easy task.

I see..
I was thinking of just making other polls that are outside of the message board, possibly in PHP.

Thanks for all the help guys, you rule.
