Excuse me Allan Ayres for posting that in the wrong forum, but but wasn´t there a chance to move my posting instead of just closing it?
Hi, quasic,
I tried to upgrade this hack today. I followed all instructions you gave in the upgrade.txt
But this happened, when I tried to execute the ....install.cgi:
Unable to write to /www/papageien/html/qk/ubb_whos_online.cgi. Please CHMOD this file to 777 or give UBB permission to write to this file in NT/2K. The install will be unable to complete until this is done.
What can I do to fix that?
The files and folders are chmod correctly.
------ Greetings Thoki

I would reload some known backups of your previous setups.. (you did make backups didn't you? :)) And try it again.. worse comes to worse, if you don't have backups, try doing the hack manually... Not much we can really suggest as the errors your getting are pretty straightforward as to what the problem is

You are trying to upgrade right?
Then I suspect that ubb_whos_online.cgi is NOT chmodded 777. CHMOD 777 and report back.

Quasic, as I wrote you in my Mail, it is chmod to 777! I checked that twice. Yes, I want to upgrade.

So BOTH the directory and the file are CHMOD 777? What happens when you CHMOD the file and directory to be 775 and run the install script?

Yes, they were both changed to 777. Now I chmodded them to 775 an that happens: Unable to write to your UBB CGI directory, the UBB Templates directory, and the UBB Variables directory. Please CHMOD both of these DIRECTORIES to 777 or give UBB permission to write to these DIRECTORIES in NT/2K. The install will be unable to complete until this is done.

Thoki,
It seems as if your server has a rather unique security configuration. Would you mind if I looked at it personally via FTP? If you don't mind e-mail/PM me with the details and I'll look into it for you.

Your UBB violates Infopop's copyright policy so thus I cannot support you in any form or shape.
Your board has been reported to Infopop.

Your copyright notice, as I'm sure Brett will tell you, does not comply with this since you have to highlight the text with your mouse to see the Powered by Infopop signature line. qasic

Ok, Qasic, I fixed that. But I have to tell you that my UBB looked that way 3 years! I had contacts with Ted and he helped me out of problems in the beginning. And he never told me, that I had to change the design. But now it is fixed. Perhaps now you will have a look?
