I know I seen it here before, i can't remember where, One of my members lost his password, can anyone tell me what file in the ubb directory its in.

If you don't know where to find a user's password, you DON'T own a UBB, and you are looking to subvert or hack someone's board.

Well sorry to say that it is my board, I never had to look for someones password before. If you don't believe me thats fine, just don't jump to conclusions when you don't have the facts.

If any one else knows and is willing to tell me, I would appreciate it alot

Inside Members directory, find usernumber.cgi. Password is inside.

P.S. In most cases, Members Directory is not web accessible

Jyst find out there Member number and go into the FTP and look at the file and it should have the users pass there.

Have you EVER looked in User Permissions in the CP? Ever look up a user's permissions? Set a user's permissions? Suspend a user? Delete a member?

Helluva lot easier getting the password in User Permissions than opening a file on the server.

Did it ever occur to the user (or yourself) to have the UBB send his "lost password" to him?

I still find it hard to believe someone who "owns" a Version 5 UBB doesn't know this.

Ahh, I thought he wanted to find out somebody's pass. Oh I'm sorry. Just go to "retieve lost password" and the Pass will be emailed to them. I agree with NB you should know this it's pretty easy.

An Admin can always see a user's password in "User Info & Permissions' in the CP.

All one has to do is type in the user's "name" and the password and other info is retrieved.

Don't you need the View pass in CP hack for that?

Apparently you need the view password hack , because it won't show up if you don't , believe me I looked.

Your board is a violation of copyright anyway as you have to highlight the infopop copyright working at the bottom to see it.

Well I don't see how that matters, I feel that it takes away from the main page of the forum. And If you had bothered to look more closely you would see that I have the copyright displayed in each of the fourm categories.

Also I would just like to say , I thought his was a place that you could ask questions and be able to get a respectable response. not where you have to read posts with people making false accusations and rude remarks. But I guess I was wrong on that account.

How can a small copywrite wording (size -2) take away from your main page. Fffttttt. It should be visible on every page UBB generates otherwise it is a violation of copyright, that simple!

Welcome JSlynt, you really should fix your copyright color... it doesn't take anything away from the look of the site, at least compared to using the default posting buttons...
