No, it uses PNTF... But it can be easily ported into 6.1.0, just take the WOL lines from chat mod's ubb_chat.cgi.

Ow..and then i have wol lines. I don't know where i shut place those wol lines LK. Maybe for the 6.1.x users, and that are a lot a short replacement instruction would be great.

I'm lost! I see wol lines all over the place, maybe i saw to many lines today. Can vars_chat.inc.php replace vars_im.inc.php and it's ok? If not, then i hope you can point to not only wich wol lines we must cut out, but also where to put this, because PNTF lines? Were are they? [ 01-08-2002 12:39 PM: Message edited by: Variables ]

Yes, but it gotta rapidly refresh the screen if you don't want 1 minute delay... I might add a popup window (like the preview window) if you wish, which enables UBBCode, Smilies, and such... Actually maybe I can make the chat, with 30 seconds delay and not so complicated, but the biggest problem is the first message: the sender has to wait for the other person to change the page. (I'm not gonna add an iframe to every page)

That's the error I get after trying this on 6.1 including the instructions on the first page. It seems those lines just aren't getting handled right..but I have to work so I have no time to dig thru ubb_msg.cgi Thought this might help though.. /usr/apache/htdocs/fm/cgi-bin/ubb_msg.cgi: syntax error at /usr/apache/htdocs/fm/cgi-bin/ubb_msg.cgi line 100, near "$vars_wordlets_im" syntax error at /usr/apache/htdocs/fm/cgi-bin/ubb_msg.cgi line 101, near "

I have it installed at my .org board and I don't have any errors at all, I can open the IM window and send a message but nothing ever pops up anywhere. Can you give me a description of where this message appears? I also noticed the .php files and I'm wondering if I have to have .php installed on the webserver for this to work or is it just for the people that are using UBB acceleration?

Xpert,
It really does not open a window. If you send a test message to yourself when you go back out to the main forum page there will be a little box with the message. Then the person will have to go to im's to send back

Wow, I just went back to the board and all the test messages were waiting for me.
Excellent, and it's 6.1.0.3
I followed LK's instructions on the first page of this thread and they appear to be correct.

Okay I have this installed on 6.2 and works fine. In 6.1.0.3 I just get the FYI window. What file do you modify on the first page here to get things to work?

Thanks yeah I figured that out.
You know what would be cool is if instead of the window now that like america online or not the main chat window but the mini im windows in chat that instant message in real time could be displayed on the other persons screen. That way no one could ever miss an instant message.

It appears I was premature. Mine seems to work about 50 percent of the time, but I have to look into it further when I get home from work...

What changes did you make besides LK's suggestions on page one of this thread?

Find: ===== # Forum Home push(@items, qq( $vars_wordlets{forum_home_link} ); That "push" part Xpert, it's not in ubb_lib.cgi! It's a link, so i placed it as one in the "mainbutton = qq". as this: $vars_wordlets_im{im_link}[ 01-11-2002 09:50 PM: Message edited by: Variables ]

No...you don't have to look for that, it is not there Xpert. You put this in the ubb_lib.cgi $MainButtons = qq!: $vars_wordlets_im{im_link} Also, the replacements on the nr one page from LK are scrumbled when copy/paste, so i rebuild those lines to positions as you see it on the topic-intro. It would be good to put this in a textfile though. [ 01-11-2002 10:24 PM: Message edited by: Variables ]

Okay, i have it in the main buttons line as an image for the cos links, but I only get the messages randomly. Sometimes when I hit the summary page, and sometimes when I enter a forum...or not at all...

Yep, i noticed a few behaviors of it.
This is a good start for a (beta) 6.1.x IM, and i hope the developers can make an AIM sort of communication in the ubb's to come.
