Just tesing the waters and seeing if there is some interest in this hack before I document it. What it does is link the last thread URL on the main forums summary page (the first page) directly to that last post. Basically the same thing as the current hack for the thread summary page, but on the first page. Anyone interested in this?

Could you do it to take you to the right page? It always takes you to the first page of the thread... That is the main thing I would like to see.

Yes, it does upport multi-page threads. That was the hard part of the hack. It required adding two extra fields to lastnumber.file to accomodate multi-page threads.

If you've already installed this hack, I found a problem. When you edit the last post in a forum, it was wiping out the added entries in the lastnumber.file, so the hack wouldn't work. This is fixed now, so check out my new instructions and make sure you make the changes to the ubb_edit_post.cgi file. http://www.vhlinks.com/pages/ubbhacks/jumptoforumsum1.0.txt

hi sorry but do not work right if u have "multipages" ... if u create replay no. 29 (post no. 30) u become (15 replays pro page in cp) the last replay at page no two - right ?! ... the next replay open page no. 3 BUT your hack like to open page no. 3 at replay no. 29 !!!
can u edit and change from summary.pl into the summary.cgi like the last_post_username hack ... [ July 23, 2001 01:47 AM: Message edited by: melder ]
