Earlier today, I noticed a little bug when posting an example of perl code here. The line of code had the character ">" followed by the character ")". The UBB added a space between these characters. In a regexp, this will change the search pattern just enough so it may not work.
And occasionally, I see smilie gifs inside a block of code in these forums.
So I grabbed my thinking hat, opened ubb_lib.cgi in my favorite editor, and came up with this little mod:
