In here is the code you place in "public_summary.pl":

Look for --> FDRboxHgt = 43; to set the overall height of the News Fader cell.

Look for --> FDRlinHgt = "10pt"; to set the inner cell which affects the text display. I always set it at least 1pt higher than my News Fader text.

Edit: I think I know what the problem is. I edited the files by hand because I have never has much success with multihack, but I cannot extract the other files from it. Help?

I only see one small flaw. It displays your current topic and reply totals, but only counts the ones in the forums in the first category.

Question 1: I changed the FDRboxHgt = 43; to value 20, which results in the text to be displayed in the vertical center of the box.
I like to make the vertical size of the display smaller so it will only be 2 lines in height.
Sadly I fail to do this.

Did I change the wrong values?

could you please make a *.TXT file? my computer crashes why loading that Multihack program (i have a: 220 MHZ 64 MB RAM, 4 gig HD, 4 MB vidcard) but it also doesn't work on another PC here.. (500mhz 128 mb, 53 gig HD (1 13, 1 40) 16 mb vidram) both are running Windows 98 SE and i updated and installed everythin that that multihack requires, but it still doesn't work.. and all options are fine ..

so can somebody please make a *.TXT file, i know this is my first post here, but if i know how Perl programming works, i think i can make you guys a few hacks

i'm gonna try to install Windows 2000 Advanced server and install mulithack then, i c whats happening then..

but please.. any body, make a TXT file for this..

Idea: like there is $NewsWidth, use $NewsHeight.

Ex: http://www.lkubb.dns2go.com - the height of the newsfader is less than the one of the standard newsfader (43px).

If you wish, I can change your MHK file to use the updated sub, add this part and make sure it works (if the sub won't work, it probably means I forgot a line or so, and I'll try get it to work)

Have I've never been able to figure out how to use Multihack. :-/ But I was able to install the text file version. It works...but have same problem as bizkit73

ALSO: Having problems with the "width" of the news fader. Would like it to go 100% instead of a fixed pixel amount. Is this possible?

Also...if News Fader is a set width (400 pixels), it seems to mess up the forum layout and you're now forced to scroll the width of the forums. (depending on your screen resolution) I have forum width currently set to 95%. When I switch the forum width to a set figure (600 pixels) It seems to make the problem even worse.

to fix the news fader width, try this,

in public_form_summary.pl

find:
# Start News Fader Stuff

# determine colspan
$ColSpan = 3;

change $ColSpan = 3; to $ColSpan = 4;

So, are we to be ignored because we don't wanna use the multihack, or will someone be kind enough to make a text file for this?

I installed Multihack just to get this installed and I have a problem.

The files are uploaded ok and the options are there in the Control Panel.
The problem is that it won't show up on the main page and I dunno why. Can someone please help , thanx.

Helen, in public_forum_summary.pl, undo news fader steps, and find:Dark, no, you just have to wait till someone will agree to make a TXT file. It's not an automatic machine here

Demo, make sure it's enabled from the CP, and clear cache.

LK , I have enabled it (DUH:P) and cleared the cache(about 50 times) and it's still not there

You guys freakin rock. Makin' your mods for UBB's around the world. Just awesome. Ok. I Have just installed hit hack, statistics 1.2 and news fader...Obviously there would be a problem with the colspan's which i read earlier in this thread but that fix did not fix mine. I changed the colspans for both the news fader and the statistics in the public_forum_summary file but still not fixed. It's just killin' me that the width of the forum summary is not what I set it at.
