Updated this one for the new structure (nice subtle differences in the thread list constuction you IP guys ;)).

Works just like the old one. Follow the directions at the bottom to install the Modifications wordlets on your 6.1.0 beta, i updated those too.

Can't download it, It's password Protected.

It's not password protected, just forbidden

I used a Download Program thats why we might have got different errors. Forbidden is like Password Protected, Server won't allow you to download it. Maybe Hypermart got his account.

A small problem in 6.1 PB2.

The text file says...

My template file did not have that line. Instead, the following line was there...

$subject

Added the $sticky command before that.

Result:

Everything is fine till you "top topic". Then a blank sheet emerges with 2 radio buttons (the top one selected by default) and nothing written beside them. There is another [apology of a] button below with nothing written on it. Clicking on this last button does stick the post up there, but the word "Sticky" is not displayed. Instead, the topic starts with a ":".

A solution would be much appreciated.

The last part sounds like it might be a problem with Modifications Wordlets or wordlets of some kind. The reason the code you are looking for is different is because of the UBB Accelerator I believe, so that's ok. The part with the white page I have no idea. BTW, I haven't installed this, so this is just conjecture

Maybe you are partly right Ramirez on your conjecture...

1) I had the wordlet file in my folder, so did not do the detailed modifications suggested to the included file, but just the small modification given in the text.

2) I do have UBB accelerator installed.

Does this help in any way? I am not much of a programmer, so need a bit of assistance here

the mod wordlets instructions have changed in beta 2.1 this is what the problem is. youll need to reinstall mod worlets from the thread in this forum, or i updated the end of my instructions with the newest mod wordlet instructions.

nothing incredibly vital, just a little update so someone doesnt bite my head off.

After I installed this hack on 6.1.0 final, I cannot delete or close any topics. I checked everything in all the files but I can't find anything wrong. I always get the following error:
Can't obtain exclusive lock: Permission denied at /web/sites/170/xheviax/www.nefertem.f2s.com/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_files.cgi line 565.

Can anyone help me???

cant display top_topic.gif&detop_topic.gif even if i upload them to noncgi dir(cp stlye edited)and when i click top_topic.gif link in the thead,i got a blank page.my version is 6.10final.any idea?thanks.

I also get a blank page when I click on the top_topic icon. My icons do display, since I did the styles update in the control panel.

Lamagra - it could be any number of things, but this hack shouldnt affect a lock routine... what other hacks do you have installed? and can you top and detop topics?

gohaku - you need to edit your current style template from the cp. down the page you will see the place to select graphics for delete thread, close thread, etc, and there will also be 1 for detop topic and 1 for top topic. enter the gif names (ie: "detop_topic.gif") in those boxes and submit.

MrStormyNights - you need to upload the file public_top_topic.pl from the zip to your Templates directory.

TaPaH - try the one at the top of this (the 2nd) page.

I can detop and top topics without any problems. The only other hacks that I have installed are the Integrated poll hack, the who's online hack and the megamods hack.

I get the same thing..and I don't have Accelerator installed

So how do I fix this?

DBZFanCentral.com - upload public_top_topic.pl to your Templates dir, and make sure the wordlets are added to your vars_wordlets_mods.cgi

Hi! First I just want to say what a great hack this is, thank you!!

It doesnt work properly in one of my forums... the topic tops, but then the posts below don't show up. I have more than one moderator in that forum. Did I read somewhere that this is a problem, or is something else going on?

I didn't realize this was the kind of question that would require a URL. But if that's the case, I guess I am just stuck then, because I just cant post the URL.

FWIW, it doesnt seem to be a multiple moderator problem as I originally thought. But sometimes in order to get a Post to "Stick" and still show the posts below it, I have to bump the post I want to Stick up to the top first. But only in a few Forums.

most questions are. i can do this a lot faster a better if i can see whats going wrong.

make sure the parts you added to ubb_forum.cgi are all in the correct place and added cleanly.

Similar problem as above...I read through all posts in this section but none helped me.

Everything seems to work fine, the icons show up, the threads will stick like they are supposed to, but...when you go to the screen where you make your selection on temp or permanent, I have blank spots. I checked and rechecked my vars_wordlets_mods.cgi file and everything looks fine.

Have you uploaded the file "public_top_topic.pl" to your Template directory?

Also, posting your vars_wordlets_mods.cgi here might help.
