Is there a problem with the style sheets or templates here?
For the last day or two, the pages are displaying with no background or table borders/background, and some text doesn't appear, such as post date/times. The post-new-topic link doesn't appear either; I had to grab the link from the page source to post this.
It looks the same with IE 5.5 and Mozila 1.0.

Sounds like the new timezone hack is causing some problems with your system... It works for everybody else, though...

It looks the problem was caused by Proxomitron. Has there been a recent change here involving Javascript cookies? I just disabled Prox's Javascript cookie blocking for this site, and that fixed the problem.
Correction: the backgrounds are showing up now, but the date/times are still missing.

I have no idea why people block cookies, they can't save info about you except anything about the cookie's sender's site So for example an advertizer's cookie can save the sites that had their ads, and ubbdev can save the sites that linked to its forums... but why would they do it in cookies and not write directly to a file?

Cookies are stored client-side, files are stored server-side. If the info were only stored in a file, the site would not be able to recognize repeat visitors.
Third-party cookies allow one site to store info on your computer which can be read from a different site.
P.S. The date/times are showing up now. Was something changed here? I don't think I changed anything at my end.

Unless you have the same IP... Also, cookies can't be transferred from one site to another, the other site can only access them THROUGH the first site... And why does it hurt you if your doubleclick.net cookies are shared? They don't contain any passwords...

Yes, it does because it means that they can track the sites you visit, as long has it has the web bug or ad on it, like spyware. .
