I am using UBB on Chinese characters. When my users login in, they will see garbage (error in Chinese code in single byte). I had already set the language to BIG5. Other work but only this login name.

So I asked at other BBS and they tought me that:

### Open public_common.pl [noncgi/template/]
Find﹕
var user_array=user_cookie.split("&");
user_array[2] = unescape(user_array[2]);
document.writeln('$vars_wordlets{hello} ',user_array[2])

Replace﹕

var user_array=user_cookie.split("&");
var pubname = unescape(user_array[2]);
document.writeln('$vars_wordlets{hello} $pubname')

After I installed it and it work. But some time (I think other user login) will show a name other than yourself. Can anyone tell me that is that modification had error or the error is only on my web hosting (server)?

Shouldn't be your server.. sounds like the code you changed... not sure how to help you tho... Check with Dave or Charles at infopop...

I fixed it. Thanks. What I do is disable the cache.

I have the exact same problem with my Hebrew forum. How exactly did u fix it? Do I need the code AND to disable the cache? Isn't there a better way than to disable the cache?
