Hi I was wondering is anyone had ever succeeded in logging into both UBB and Gossamer threads Links v2.0 ? I did a search but it all seems to be hanging.... Failing that (and as a last resort - as I'm a terribly bad perl scripter ) can anyone point me at a tutorial of how the UBB log-in script works? Sorry - I'm hopeless I know - which is why I posted here...... Thanks guys

I don't think it was ever actually written, or at least not shared. Gossamer-threads was going to write a plug-in, and we actually beta-tested it a long time ago for them, but I think they got interested in other things - I don't think they finished it. If you don't already have time invested in GT links, you might check out the ubb.links topic here, it works pretty well now - lots of input from lots of people here Here's an example: http://www.praisecafe.org/ubbcgi/links.cgi

Hi Allen Thanks for that. I have your script installed already - and it really is excellent I like the way it integrates so well with ubb (of course!) It's just that I have SOoooohh many links - the idea of entering them manually is a nightmare...... Perhaps I will, as the fact that only registered members can post is a big plus. Thanks again, d. {{EDIT}} I don't suppose there is such a thing as an "Import" (from gossamer) to your scripts, is there? I wouldn't care about 'lost' data as long as the link and description were there.....? {{//EDIT}}

Not making a whole lotta progress yet It could be done manually if you like importing into excel and moving the columns to the correct places :shrug:

Hey Allen, I tried it out last week - but I couldn't get it working at the time. (The importer, that is)
Didn't have a chance to really work with it though as I was off on r&r the next day.
Back this evening, work in the a.m. - will look at things seriously this weekend.
Wouldn't want to report a bug without testing properly!!!!!!
Were there any release notes I may have missed?
Thanks again, d.

OOooOOOoOoohhHHh Baby.... Yes - that's it! # Set the following paths and urls to your gt links.db file: $gt_links_path = "/XXXX/cgi-bin/links/admin/data/";
$gt_links_url = "XXXX/cgi-bin/links/admin/data/";
What threw me were the words to your gt links.db file: so I had added.... links/admin/data/ links.dbStill got it working now - Excellent. This is excellent Allen - will stop all those stupid Mortgage, Viagra and Loans postings - as only registered users are allowed to post. Nice one One small fly in the ointment though. On the main page (next to the main categories)all the link counts are set at zero. Any ideas? d.
