6.2 changed the message icon display process when writing a post and changed the way they are sorted.

My icons have been out of numeric order since 5.45 and if I fix them now, all my past posts will have screwed up icons. Without sorting, they appear in the order that I uploaded them, which gives me the control I need.

How do I turn off this new sorting?

The sorting is only for the display of icons - previous topics will not have the icons changed.

The current sorting behavior is correct - the sort-by-upload-order thing is a BUG.

I picked the order my icons appear. Needless to say, it isn't icon1, icon2, icon3.

Let's say for example the current order is icon47, icon36, icon1. If I change the names of these files to icon1, icon2, icon3 so they appear in the correct order, then previous posts with icon1 will now show as icon47 instead of icon3.

I agree it would be nicer to be able to just name them in the order you'd like them to appear, but until someone writes an icon conversion program for people that have had forums since before 6.0, I have to be able to put them in the order I want without re-naming them.
