Hi Scream,

I just sucessfully installed the w3t 4.4b3, upgrading from the free version. Who said w3t Pro is hard to install? Although I am pretty new to w3t Pro, I can tell you right now that it is the best BBS I have ever seen. I agree that the installer needs to have some Unix experience, but other than that, it is pretty intutiative. Although w3t's documentation (MANUAL) needs to go into more details, Scream has done a great job documenting the comments/instructions right into the .pm and .pl files. I am new with Perl, but I can tell you that it is so easy to follow the code, thanks to Scream's excellent code comments. What I really would like to have is for Scream to spend more time on enhancing features from the users' wishlist rather on improving documentations, don't we all agree? []/w3timages/icons/cool.gif[/] Hopefully, new features will come along quickly once the official w3t is released.

One thing, although it was easy to upgrade from the free version to the w3t 4.4b3 Pro version, I think the UPGRADING file is somewhat confusing. Here is a portion of it:

"Just unpack the tarball, edit your variables and run the file
altertable-free-4.4.pro.pl. There are 2 new image folders with icons in them.
icons and newicons, both of these folders need to be moved into your images
directory. So if your image directory is /home/httpd/html/images you would
move them into that directory, so the path would be like
/home/httpd/html/images/icons and /home/httpd/html/images/newicons

There are also 2 files that need to be edited. w3tvars.pm and w3ttheme.pm
If you are interested in distributing custom themes please read the
THEMES file.
"

Basically, it took me a while (~10') to finally realize that there is no such file as "tarball" to unpack []/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/] I am sure Scream meant that "users have to modify the w3tvars.pm and w3ttheme.pl files first to match configurations on your web server. Once done, run the altertable-free-4.4.pro.pl file. Lastly, move the icons and newicons directories into ..."

Anyway, that is my 2-cent feedback. I start to love w3t Pro alot, and can't wait to see more new features coming out soon []/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/]. Have to log off to play with it ...

Good day! Thanks for your great work!
