To give an update on 4.4. The groups feature is almost complete. Because this involved a vast majority of the files I decided to take this opportunity to do something else as well. I don't like having to put out total upgrades that involve every file and I try to save things like this for when a new feature is going to require major changes anyway.
So, currently for most every script right now there are at least 2 SQL calls that have to be made just for user purposes. One to get some information on the user so the pages can me made out, and the second is to generate the headers. What I am going to do now, is make it so there is only 1 SQL call needed to grab the user info period. And when dealing with SQL apps, anytime you can cut out a database query it's a good thing.
This will also open up the possibility for one more thing. I was thinking about putting it in for this version, but I don't want to add to much at one. So, in a future release the admin will have the option to allow the user to have total control over the look of the forum. Right now a user can change the Font Size, and Face. But in a future release if the admin wants to allow it, they will be able to control page colors, font colors, table colors, etc. And because of the changes I am making now it won't add any more load to the program.
So, that's what is going on right now. Expect a beta release to be out for licensed users by later next week.
