Just a little idea?

I'm getting a bit confused on the nomenclature people use for the forums here.

Are these forums? Or are they boards?

I've always thought that the main areas that display all the main categories are the forums and each separate area within this are the boards.

So you can say that w3t is forum software containing a group of boards......if that makes sense.

When I'm trying to explain certain aspects of features to people on my site it's been pretty confusing to them. But when I use this principle people have an easier time grasping it.

When reading a lot of posts here I get a bit confused myself when people say something about a particular board but use forum instead.

I know I know.....I'm being a bit nick-picky but I didn't see a rant board here. LOL

I would define the forum as the list of boards. We are now in the General Feedback board.

Actually, Scream seems to call this a forum, too. Note that when you post it says "return to the forum" and when you get there, you can search this "forum."

What....about nothing?

I think any confusion regarding the forums....or should I say boards....should be nipped in the bud.

Besides.....there's a lot of people that make their living dealing with nothing but symantics ya know. LOL
