Here's a dumb question....
But I Telnet with SSH to my site and perform the mysqldump command to create a file daily (ex. 0315backup.dump).

I only save a day or two at a time, as space is limited. But, because I can't figure out the "delete" command in shell access, I have to use my FTP program to delete the old files.

Whats the shell command to delete... something like "del 0315backup.dump" did in DOS. []/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif[/]

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing! I hate that "delete command not found" error! Well you know what they say, if you have a question, ask, because you're probably not the only one confused on a certain point. Thanks for asking, Josh!

Be careful with rm -rf ... you put in the wrong directory and POOF, everything is gone.

You don't need to install it if you don't want to, so you should still be ok. There is a trash can folder on the desktop in RH8 as well, but I don't know what it does. Could be just a normal folder. I'm installing Debian anyway, so I don't care. =]

Oh, and sorry about the topic creep. =]
