I just installed v.6.0.3 several weeks ago, now there is a better version of it out.

is the upgrade as simple as it sounds (per what I read @infoPOP) or am I going cause myself greif.

I shut down the board.

make backup os the SQL-DB

I upload the stated files. ASCii then Binary

---do I need to set any CHMODS?

compare the contents of the image folder, add only the new ones

run the UPGRADING HTML page

open the boards and it utilizes the new files?

it cant possibly be that simple,,,

---or I am I doomed if I think it its that simple...

An upgrade with an unmodified board should be that simple.

You shouldn't need to fool with permissions if you are replacing files. If things don't work, then you can go back and check file permissions... but in reality if you are replacing files, you should be fine.

Actually though... you'll need to chmod the new /images/graemlins directory... as well as /images/icons and /images/newicons as the newest version allows for you to add/edit graemlins and icons....so the permissions on these new folders will need to be 777.

Even if you messed up this step, that wouldn't affect anything major. You'd receive an error if you tried to add graemlins/icons etc.

But yes, it should be that simple.

Don't forget to run the altertable file to add the new tables for the new features.
