I had a message posted back on July 17th of 2003, which was made sticky on that date. Recently, I unstickied that post, but the original date wasn't returned. It now says July 17, 2004. Is there a way to change the date of this post back to it's correct original date?

UPDATE w3t_Posts SET B_Posted='1058421600' WHERE B_Number='post#'

Just have to know the Post # itself and use the above.

Medar,

That didn't work???

Here's the URL for the post:

http://www.the-highway.com/forum/showthr...=14&fpart=1

And here's the command line I ran in the Admin Database utility:

UPDATE w3t_Posts SET B_Posted='1058421600' WHERE B_Number='23570'

So, this brings up two questions:

1) What happened when I ran that command; i.e., what did I screw up? hehe
2) What command will effect the change back to 2003?

CLARIFICATION: When you actually view the post itself, the date shows correctly in the header. But when you view the list of threads for that Forum, in the "LAST POST" column, the date is incorrect; 2004 instead of 2003, and consequently, it is displayed as a recent post. I hope that bit of information helps?

Jeff

Change B_Posted to B_Last_Post, that should do the trick.

woot!

I didn't stop to think about the fact it would have to "possibly" be changed in both places. But in your case, it did.

[]UPdate w3t_posts SET B_posted='1058421600' WHERE B_Number='post#'[/]

In that command to change the post date, how does "1058421600" correspond to July 17, 2003? That is, I'm wanting to use this command, but how do I set the B_posted to a certain date?

Thanks!

That's Epoch time, which is what's used in the Post table. Epoch time is the number of seconds since like Jan 1, 1970. I have a little time converter here for your use if needed;

I'm playing around with the merge threads mod and changing the post dates...I executed both commands above, but the time/date on the main forum page doesn't change? And, it's kinda screwing with the merge feature...how do I fix that?

Well the stuff on the main index (last post info) would be stored in the w3t_Boards table. That shouldn't have any effect on the merge threads mod.

I won't make any guarantees that you can change the date and merge an old thread into a new. I had oodles of errors and problems before this mod checked for that. I'm not positive that Threads can display the posts (numerically) out of order without "undefined index errors". So use caution. I haven't tested doing that, but something does remind me that there were issues before I added checking for such things.
