I have a counter on my home page...before long it's gonna roll over 1,000,000. Is there a way to track which user is the 1,000,000th hit, for like a prize or something? Any and all ideas appreciated...

Really depends. If it's a counter where you have access to the code then you could probably add some code to check if the counter is at 1 million. If so, then you could grab their userid from their cookie and write it to a file or a database. Then you'd just need to lookup their username from the userid that you would have.

Just now thought of it, but the counter is actually on our home page, which is a static HTML page...nothing fancy, with just a link to our BB. That probably changes everything...

Someone suggested this, sound about right?
"You can track the 1,000,000 person easily using PHP. Start the counter at whatever you are at now, and then increment every time someone enters your site. That way, you can then so a SELECT * FROM table etc etc, and then call the variable, test it to see if it is 1,000,000, and if so, echo a message / open a new file."

Don't know if this will help or not, but here is the HTML for my coutner: <!--webbot bot="HitCounter" u-custom="57chevy.gif" i-digits="7" i-image="5"<br /> PREVIEW="<strong>[Hit Counter]</strong>" i-resetvalue="972300" startspan<br /> --><img src="_vti_bin/fpcount.exe/C:/My%20Documents/My%20Webs/Supercar%20Registry/?Page=index.htm|Custom=57chevy.gif|Digits=7" alt="Hit Counter"><!--webbot bot="HitCounter" endspan<br /> --><br /> I still haven't thought of a way to do it...popups are no good, but maybe a redirect or load a completely different page when the counter rolls over?
