transferred the table and directory structure with no diff. changed some paths in config, main, and index.php.

WHat am I missing?
DO I need to do a new install?

Hmmm.. ok, let me elaborate.

AFter uploading all the files and tables, I did switch the paths in the mentioned files.

I cannot log into the site and the styles are messed up.

I have tried to search the forum for steps in doing this operation but the search is to encumbersom; after 2hours I still have not found the answer. Maybe I am not using thw right words or something.

Can anyone please help me with what I am supposed to do, in steps? I asked a very similar question almsot 18 months ago I think but cannot find my the answer again.

Please help.

I take it you've created new MySQL databases with your new host?

what he said ^^ and also, did you make sure your permissions are set correctly.

I installed the data base. and set permissions on config.php to 666. Is this not correct?
