I had a situation arise this week where a banned user and some cohorts spammed my forums with pornographic images. I quarantined all material to save for evidence in a forum that was only viewable myself. Some interesting things also happened that may or may have not been caused by this and I am trying to sort them out so maybe you can help me diagnose what happened. My details are sketchy sometimes so bear with the peices Over the last few days my Host had shut me down because my board was gobbling up almost 4 gb of ram. I noticed that after moving the posts the links were still showing in latest posts and top threads although clicking those links resulted in denied access (I think, everything was happening pretty fast) The images (almost 4mb size) were repeated in numerous posts over several lines. My question is could this somehow have caused the memory hogging even though the material was not available to the public? After noticing the links still in Top Threads and Recent Posts I excluded the board containing the material via IIP and then refreshed the cache but the memory issue continued. I have since deleted the entire quarantined section posts and all and I am awaiting to hear from my host who was almost ready to drop my account over the memory issue. Are there any exploits that could have caused this? To my knowledge nothing has happened up until this week and I am trying to pinpoint if this is an issue from the forum invasion or something totally seperate. Thanks everyone I am running v 6.5 of Threads and IIP My average page load for teh Entrance Page Low Generated in 0.622 seconds in which 0.572 seconds were spent on a total of 37 queries. Were they uploaded to your site? It's possible they linked directly to the images on another site and others downloaded them.
