Here is a small list of my problems:
1. formatting text using UBB code shortcuts does not work. 2. Same with smilies.
3. Search does not work
4. some members unable to post with error messages: "We cannot proceed. The form you have submitted is no longer valid", and "The host you are trying to send input from is not a valid host". The fix for the second message on one user was disabling his Zone Alarm. Don't know about the other one yet. Still doing searches on various support sites. ***I found the fix for this on this subforum and posted it on my site. So far one of the members has beeen able to successfully post***
5. Some members profiles still missing. 6 so far, possibly more. They didn't make it over from the conversion from ubb classic to threads. Is this common?

it would be in your language files, tho the post is about editing the file directly. You wouldn't use that text in the control panel. If you pull it up in the control panel, just remove any quotes from the line concerning ubbcentral

Okay... You just completely lost me. I went to languages, all I had were search windows. I found the instant_markup.php, but I didn't know what to do with it. I couldn't pull anything up from selecting it. I didn't get anything about ubb. I think I need just a bit more step by step advice as I am new to the back end of forum software. I am relatively familiar with the control panel (although it has changed a bit from the classic).

Found what you were talking about and got this error message when I tried to edit the text in that file:
D:/JPFitness/threads/languages/english/instant_markup.php is not writeable. Please fix the permissions on this file and try again.
Where do I fix these permissions?
