Is it my imagination, or have things changed here recently in how "Mark all read" works? Clicking on it now takes me to another screen where I have to click it again, but I don't remember that happening before the last week or so. Maybe I'm just a little spacey from sitting up here at 8700 feet in New Mexico! (Or maybe my laptop is playing games with me.)

thanks...

maybe it's just that I'm now on a laptop, with a 36K dialup connection, and I notice the time for the extra screen to come up! Tony

I notice it has changed here at TD though. A few weeks ago, if you clicked the link they were instantly marked as read. But now it is functioning normal, and takes you to another screen.

I thought that was a hack to make it only one click... but weird how it isn't doing that anymore.

Hey, guess what! "Mark all read" is back to working without clicking on a second screen...so has something been happening that makes this change as a side effect? (A lot like evolution!) Tony

That's what happens when more than 1 person works on the files I changed it in the template to do that, it's just a matter of adding 'do' to the front of 'markallread.php' in the registered template. It saves me at least 2 seconds by skipping those extra screens

Yeah, sorry Allen - me thinks I blew it out when I was doinking with the menu changing the slashes etc... forgot about that one.

I always forget about it, will add it to my list right now so I remember next time.

/me slaps myself in the head.

You can dock my pay for the next 2 weeks as punishment. No problem.

hmmm...so it's a simple "do" or something to skip the second screen? Is there any real advantage to the second screen, or is it just to make users think twice before marking? (Wish I could make my dog do that oh I know that's bad)

When I get back from my present trip, I think I'll see if I can find that place in - what? - the "registered" template! Tony

ubbt_registerednav.tmpl - add 'do' (no quotes) to the markallread.php line - presto! no second page
