A new (old) modification has been added to the database. Begun by Howard a while back and rewritten this past summer by Mark Badolato, it places links to every page in a multipage thread next to the title of the thread in forumdisplay.cgi. https://www.ubbdev.com/db/cgi/ubbcount.cgi?expath1=Forum3&expath2=&topic=000008&type=&number=3 Very simple to do, it cuts down on bandwidth from your site and has also been included in the v5.47 of ubb. This mod should work in most every recent version of ubb. Upload the included .gif file to your ubb non-cgi directory. ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Lovely modification, but I had to take the last one off my UBB coz it was too server intensive- is this version more efficient? I know it scans _ever_ topic that's displayed by forumdisplay.cgi

In your multipage.txt instruction, you have this:
############################# ubb_library2.pl #############################
## FIND:
$ThisURL = qq($NonCGIURL/$ExactPath/HTML/$threadinfo[1].html); }
Actually, it should be for the file forumdisplay.cgi

Thanks for the spot Wes, download file is updated now. Borg, yes it is less server intensive... quite a bit actually over the older version. I remember Mark's stats showing that it required less than 1/3 the server clock cycles to complete compared to the older version. ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Does this hack also modify the Pages links on the bottom of a Forums main page, like Page: 1 2 3 4 ... Last Page >> or Page: << First Page ... 37 38 39 40 or is it just the Topics page? I'm having a problem with 220 pages of topic and need to get rid of them. http://board.picpage.com/cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimage.cgi thx csurfer

It really doesn't do anything for that. You might consider adding another forum or 2 and splitting that huge one up... or at least cutting the standard number of "days viewed" down to 5 or so... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

I used this hack and it works well but I wonder if it possible to hack code this way: user reply and UBB redirect him to last page of thread (not first like this hack)?
Anybody can give a hand?

Yeah, do search for the "Anchor Hack" and you'll be all set.
