Ok, I installed this on a clean board without any other hacks and when I click on ADVANCED to change the way I enter in text via UBB Code Buttons, I can see the popup window come up, but nothing is in it. It appears to be a problem with the way the private messaging writes the postings.cgi file. Can someone give me a hand with this please? After further reviewing, it looks like this issue might be happening within the UBB Code Buttons.pl file and the way afp() is called. Hell I don't know, just trying to figure this out and could use the help. ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif) You can see it for yourself here: http://www.webdrenalin.com/cgibintest/Ultimate.cgi ------------------ What kinda **** do I enter here? I see your problem (nice looking site, btw), you don't have ubb codebuttons installed for the main site yet, the advanced font properties' pop-up's html comes from the postings.cgi... you might want to check that... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

the latest bug-fixed files have been uploaded to the database and the names finally changed to v3.8... I think we want to continue working the bugs out before adding much more in the way of features... I would like a very stable v4 before we begin moving the code to strict -wT for use with ubb v6 in our pm's v6. I think eventually the goal here is to make this a standalone script/ application that uses strict coding. Our only code modification in the ubb files would be if we wanted the pm tables in ultimate.cgi, but ideally would just be SSI'd into the left hand column, or the front page of a site... installing pm's would entail just uploading the files in the right directories and applying the links into ubb where needed... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

What version of PM's are you running? Everything you mentioned can NOT be caused by my addon, but by you running an older version of PM's. ------------------ Modification Developer of the Ultimate Bulletin Board Due to time limitation, I do not offer support Via. I think that problem has to do with the welcome message. Allen told me back then that the welcome message MUST be on one line for it to work. I had mine on several lines and it caused that. Fixed it after I got everything on one single line. ------------------

Allan, i got a small misstake in the translation, there is a JavaScript error when opening the privatesend.cgi. Is it possible, that the error happen because of no IM's installed? Btw. i have installed an old Version of Codebuttons.pl too (3.5), but this is the only error that happend any more at my board with this Version! Any Ideas why this happens?

You might want to upgrade to 5.5 then. It's the most reliable UBB Code Buttons since. ------------------

Got a Christmas present for the brave... an alpha beta release of what will become v4 of pm's. It still needs bug testing, so if you can, please look it over, especially the new admin file and help me bug test it. https://ubbdev.com/hacks/beta4.zip Note: Do not use these files if you aren't very familiar with pm's, use the files in our database until we get some bugs worked out of these. To upgrade to these for bug testing purposes, just upload these over your old pm files. There is a new file in there name privateadmin.cgi. When uploaded and accessed at /privateadmin.cgi?action=admin, it performs the configuration that used to be done to the private.cfg file (at least the upper half of that file... This is the first step towards making pm's to where you just upload them to your cgi-bin, configure from your browser, and run them... should cut down on install errors... OK, things that need work: - It builds the private.setup file ok when you submit the admin file. But when you re-access the admin file, your previous choices do not show up... really needs to display present choices and if there are none, display the defaults... I have attempted that at the top of the file, but it is missing something... - need a way to build the "private" directory and chmod it to 777 so that step will never have to be done by manually again, will cut down on a major amount of install errors. - need a setting that will make code buttons optional from this admin file... For an example of what it looks like: http://www.health-net.org/ubbcgi/privateadmin.cgi?action=admin ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

The code_button.pl file that comes with pm's is the latest version (5.5 right now), but you will need the trnslate .html files for the translate to work, which is found with the official code button download... maybe I should include those with this download... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Thanks for looking at it klipsch... did it write the private.setup file for you and did it write the "5" in the for the warning? I am wondering why it didn't recognize it.... could be the privateview file is still looking for the warning # in private.cfg.... I'll take a look at it.. ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

OHH boy don't remind me of this one... I have been having this error show up on my forums from time to time, it happened to me recently. You type in your message, hit submit, you come back to a "1". You can't edit it out, every time you try it still comes back a "1". I can't find a "non-random" problem with it yet... it seems totally chaotic and sporadic. I have been having the issue on our forums though, not in the PM section. (our host won't allow the image uploading, it even disallows the script for uploading from even being in the cgi directory, so that isn't an issue) If this is due to the PM's I'll downgrade, because it is bothering me a little. I haven't been able to narrow it down to anything set yet... the people seem to have been using different PC's at the time, which is about the only similiarity that could be announced. (except for when it happened to me... I use the same PC all the time.) ------------------ My Site The only difference between a fool and an eccentric are your beliefs in their ideas.

Aww the good ol' magic "1" error. I had a fix to this long ago but let's see if it is still effective. In ubb_library.pl Find: Replace the last line in that sub with: This was MasterMind's fault in the UBB Code Buttons which I had experienced before...and it was ugly... ------------------
