Seems like all the bugs were fixed, great work MM!

This doesn't have to do with the script anymore but with the style now. The image button images are different hovered and not hovered. One has an arrow and one doesn't. Using my BAD Photoshop skills, I managed to make image_2.gif with an arrow. SEE ==> . Everyone is freely to use it

uno mas... MM, there's 2 ubbcodebutton.pl files in your download, the correct one, and one in with the .gif's. Can you delete the second one from the download? It seems to be confusing new people in the installation...

Yeah I notice there were 2 ubb_code_buttons.pl but did a file compare on each and realized the one in the CGI folder is updated. Thank god for Beyond Compare !

Is the newest files posted at top of this page. I havent touched mine in about a week, havent had any problems with the Hack except the smilies in the pop up window wont auto paste. My smiles in my super smiles will.
Why would that be.

Just A Thought

How do I get rid of the translate & upload buttons?

Look in ubb_code_buttons.pl and search for every instance of translate.gif and upload.gif then delete/comment those statements out.

I also found an unneeded image named arrow.gif that wasn't included in the zip. So I took it out

In ubb_code_buttons.pl

Find:

Remove that whole line since it isn't needed. Cosmetic change not required.

I also found the bug that keeps giving me a script error everytime I tried to make a new topic. Check your install code in the postings.cgi portion, skip on down to line # 176. There is an extra ' at the end before the ). Remove it...

Please help!

I know this is going to sound very strange, but installing this script gives me a *blank page* when I try and post a new topic or post a reply to an existing one. Also, I can't edit any threads. I check the source of the blank page that pops up and all I get is the basic HTML that you would see at the beginning and end of a document. It's as if the entire message isn't being processed (and it isn't).

I've double and triple-checked everything, and I still can't seem to figure it out! I've restored my backed-up files, and I can post again without any problems (minus the UBB Code Buttons, of course ).

And if you think that's strange, I'm running the latest version of the Instant Message mod, which also uses the UBB Code Buttons. And yet I have no problems whatsoever submitting messages!

Whatever help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Upload the ubb_code_buttons.pl file that came with this mod...that should fix it. Make sure you chmod it to 755.

i am having some BIG probs with this hack and i'm not that new to ubb hacking (about 8 months experience)

i've installed many hacks on many ubbs and now i have been trying to install this hack on a friends ubb (for money of course) lol and i just cant get it to work

as with a few otehr people here who have said the same thing everything works fine but when u click on submit to send the message it just loads up a blank page

heres what i did

*installed the hack
*went back to my first ubb version (5.45b)
*installed the hack again
*noticed it was most likely something to do with postings.cgi and went over the hacking part of postings.cgi a few times with no luck
*went to my latest version of ubb i bought (5.46)
*did the hack again
*didn't work
*read all the posts in this forum
*thanks allen for that simple fix which fixed up an error
*got a anotehr ubbhacking friend to try installing this on his ubb (not sure which version) and he said it didn't work on his either

my guess is its something to do with postings.cgi
or one of the ubb library files or maybe even ubb_code_buttons.pl

please help i dont have much of a clue whats going on and from that list you can see i have tried and retried everything

i also went back to an older version which worked fine (the older version was 3 *i think*)

but this new one is so much better than 3 LOL

if someone could help me out that would be cool thanks i have tried many, many ubb hacks and all have worked fine some stage or other except the ICQ hack which just doesn't show up next to profile and email etc any help for the icq hack would also be appreciated

I believe you need to add the appropriate require file to postings.cgi under the rest of them.

i also tried fiddling with the chmod values and looking at the paths to perl and doing anything that coulda possible been interpretedf wrong by me and still no luck

i wont post a direct link to a zip cause of some people who scavenge bits and pieces of registered ubbs to get their own registered ubb lol

Oh BTW, Lukahn, I bet you anything all your problems are coming from the ubb_library.pl Try installing the mod except for the "long" coding in the library.pl and see if you can't post. I had the same prob and it all stemmed from that
