This has been brought up dozens of times in these forums, at least. Ad nauseam.
It can't be done easily, but can be done. I've got the modification finished and will release it soon after UBB6 leaves beta.

no doubt, such a useful hack. I'll be glad when final is released. I'm to lazy to redo hacks or anything, so I haven't touched anything yet.

What problems, exactly, may arise from using this hack Charles?
The main page will just load up a tad bit slower?

Truthfully I dont think that any problem could arise from this hack, and I wouldn't think that the process of checking the users private message 'inbox' would take up so much loading time to actually make a diff. just my opinion, I could be totally wrong  (better fix my siggy.) Ayax,
I don't think the problem comes with checking the inbox...I think the problem is displaying the message. Since the pages are cached, having the message displayed and updated would be tricky.

I had totally forgotten about the cache, then when you look at it that way its much more complex.. but it can be done since Charles did it
