I have a dark background in my UBB6
Since the Iconbar is mostly White, I decided to replace it with blue graphics (from this site)
It ALMOST worked. I got this:

anyone know where I need to go to kill the spaces?

it's gonna be something in a template somewhere, which i'm sure you already know. I wish someone would write that guide that was talked about in another post that gives description about what each file contains.

I believe it is public_topic_page.pl that you want to edit.

The line that you should look for is:

umm.. did you clear your cache. don't know if you have to, but that's what everyone always says.. hehe

Turns out it was in 2 places.
Both the main scripts AND the Template files needed some modifications.
public_topic_Page.pl around the 150-170-190 marks
and
ubb_lib_posting.cgi at around

Then The Icon Bar was tossed into a little table just to help to keep it together.

Also modified the orig. graphics a little to allow for unregistered visitors (Who have no profile)

Disclosure: SwampBuggy did the work here... I just kept install/clear-cacheing until it worked...
